No one could be more excited than me about the next upcoming book of the Michael Vey series coming out this year. I was more than satisfied with the ending that Richard Paul Evans had produced in the latest book, which I had assumed was the end, 'The Final Spark'. It was similar to having an ice cream and cold beverage at the end of a hot summer day, it was that good of an ending.
SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD
but not really...
A book series based on science fiction, through the malfunction of a MEI machine created by the character Dr. Hatch (main antagonist) and a group of scientists, creating seventeen electric children. One of these children, Michael Vey, (main protagonist) is a regular-ish, fourteen year old freshman in high school student. Born with the neurological disorder Tourette's Syndrome (much like the author himself), he is bullied and forced to move from time to time when his special electric powers are used.
From book one he learns to not only how use his power but how to perfect it, he makes friends that become a family along the way, some with electric abilities just like him and some 'non-els' as Hatch refers to them as, the non-electrics. Michael and his clan rescue not only those who are kidnapped by Dr. Hatch but those that have been enslaved by him. In this series you can almost feel the electricity raise the hairs on your arms as the Electroclan take on the mighty strength of the Elgen.
Mr. Evans had brought the entirety of the electric kids together and had the grand finale of a nearly divine being. From a great set up starting on page one in 'Prisoner of Cell 25', (one of my favorite moments of all time is when Michael's mothers car needs a jumpstart), he then took us to, 'Rise of The Elgen', where Michael and his friends really start to show their power, into 'Battle of the Ampere' and 'Hunt for Jade Dragon', where the Electroclan take to China! From there, 'Storm of Lightning', 'Fall of Hades' and as you now know, 'The Final Spark'.
This author did his research and it paid off, this New York Times Best Selling Author has announced the eighth, ninth AND tenth book on his Instagram Live. At the time 4:50 in the video he reveals the expected publication of these three books, along with the title of the eighth, 'The Forgotten'. Watch here!
'The Forgotten', WAS the original title said in the video above, back in mid-2020. But apparently the final decision landed on the title, 'The Parasite'. As said in the video on why there is a need for more of these great works of art, Richard Paul Evans expressed how excited and happy he is to be releasing these books. It was at first expected to be released in the month, September of year 2021. Yet, as we are all aware, the pandemic MAJORLY screwed up a lot of release dates, from our books, to TV shows and movies.
There were rumors going around of 'The Parasite's release in January of 2022 but unfortunately they were false. So whoever decided to mess with the hearts of the Vey-niacs, I forgive you. And may your coffee always be cold.
The most up to date (as of 2/23/2022) day of release is on November 8th of 2022. So get excited people! Pre-ordering is now available on Amazon just click the blue button underneath, but if any of you know where to pre-order outside of Amazon, comment below!
