Book Buddy Pt. 1

Updated: Jul 11, 2022

Chapters 1 - 9

Welcome everyone! I am starting a book-buddy read with my brother, (his name is Kolbe) and we are reading the book 'Janitors' by Tyler, Whitesides. Should be an easy read, but when it comes to good books though, age ranges are mere suggestions! As old as some of us believe ourselves to be, we can always gain more from a entrapping work of literature.

The book starts off pretty easy with an unexpectedly young protagonist! In the sixth grade we have Spencer Zumbro, a twelve year old boy who is truly just the average kid in class. Sleeps during math class, doesn't stand up for the bullied kids which includes himself, and eats all alone during lunch.

With a so far unexplained story of why he and his younger siblings are living at his aunts house who is away for many months with her husband. Mrs. Zumbo, a single mom, trying to raise her four(?) children with Spencer being the oldest, and to top it off there is an unknown background of why their father left them to fend for themselves.

Now to the real beginning! During his math class, while the teacher, Miss Sharmelle, gave a wonderful lecture on the joining of letters in math, Spencer found himself falling asleep, as did most of us. When he awoke he found himself in need of cleaning his face of the graffiti left by the bully of that class. Rushing to the bathroom and finding all the soap containers empty, he spotted a tube of soap just sitting there and uses the pink goo to clean the ink off of his forehead. After some slight side affects, Spencer continues the day as normal...

Expect now he can see monsters, that no one else can see!
